Where the Sun Shines

Since 2003 I have worked with Canada World Youth and Change for Children in many places throughout Africa and Latin America. This website has served as a medium to share my experiences, to tell my stories from "the field". This year (2010) I will be returning to Mozambique to work as a project supervisor again with Canada World Youth.

Alberta Summer

The summer so far has been amazing, one of my best summers in Alberta! I can hardly belive its nearly half over! I have been enjoying my job and taking full advantage of my weekends off! Since June I have been to Calgary a couple times, visited the moutains twice, visited several local Alberta lakes, gone hiking and camping!

Last weekend I visited Waterton National Park with my family! It was so beautiful and I hope to post some photos to show you all just how great Canada is! This coming weekend I plan to head back down South through Calgary, to Canmore and Banff. To do a little hiking, camping and enjoy the outdoors with good friends and family! Some friends of mine from Europe(Gabri & Hagen) are here in Canada on a 4 week holiday, so I hope to be their tour guide for the Banff-Canmore leg of their trip!

In the meantime I am enjoying Camrose -my new CWY host community. I have settled in quite nicely to my new little apartment on the outskirts of town. I have already found a regular cafe I go to to get my daily caffeine fix -they make the best Tea Freeze drinks and very tasty frozen mochas! I have been trying to only get around on my bike here in town in an effort to be true to my environmental conscious and to get a little extra exercise!

I hope to continue to enjoy the hot and sunny Alberta Summer as its the best time of year to be out and about! I plan to continue to see lots of beautiful places, spend time with friends and family and in general enjoy life and have a great time!
